This position is ideal for someone who is technically curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about developing and protecting water resources. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects involving permitting and development of groundwater resources, including water supply wells, groundwater recharge, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), underground storage facilities (USF), aquifer protection programs (APP), conceptual model development, and technical reporting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Do<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>As a Hydrogeologist, you\u2019ll contribute to the technical execution of groundwater projects, including permitting, data analysis, and reporting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"e219f9e8 aa8a625a _662f01e9\">\n<li>Team Collaboration: Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including colleagues, engineering partners, subcontractors, laboratories, clients, and regulators in developing and analyzing of GIS, modeling, and hydrologic data.<\/li>\n<li>Data Management: Organize, evaluate, and analyze hydrogeologic data from fieldwork and public datasets.<\/li>\n<li>Field Data Analysis: Analyze data collected in the field, including aquifer test data, water level data, lab analyses of groundwater, surface water, and soil samples.<\/li>\n<li>Technical Analysis: Assist in the development of hydrogeologic conceptual models and groundwater modeling efforts. Work with team on displaying and organizing geospatial information to support project goals.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting: Contribute to technical reports and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies, and work to ensure end-products comply with statutory requirements<\/li>\n<li>Additional duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><strong>Required Qualifications<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in geology, hydrogeology, environmental\/earth science, or a related field (required)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>2 \u2013 6 years of direct experience in hydrogeology, water resources, or environmental consulting<\/p>\n<p><strong>Licensure<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Arizona Registered Geologist (RG) or interest in pursuing certification is a plus<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Preferred familiarity with:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"e219f9e8 aa8a625a _662f01e9\">\n<li>Well construction and aquifer testing procedures<\/li>\n<li>GIS, AQTESOLV, Leapfrog, Petra, MODFLOW<\/li>\n<li>Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) projects<\/li>\n<li>Arizona groundwater and surface water regulation framework<\/li>\n<li>State and Federal permitting requirements including Underground Storage Facility (USF) and Aquifer Protection Program (APP)<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Computer coding skills (e.g. Python) a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Requirements<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"e219f9e8 aa8a625a _662f01e9\">\n<li>Valid U.S. driver\u2019s license with a good driving record<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to travel occasionally for onsite meetings at project sites across Arizona and the surrounding region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why Spheros Environmental?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>At Spheros Environmental, we value innovation, collaboration, and delivering exceptional results for our clients and communities.
